The Road Peace Challenge
The RoadPeace Challenge is an annual awareness-raising and fundraising week of action that takes place in May during UN Global Road Safety Week.
The mission of the RoadPeace Challenge is:
“To bring together the emergency services, bereaved families, businesses, schools and communities – to make a united stand against road death and injury.”
BYLC members took part in their own Road Peace challenge. Representing the challenge in their fantastic Road Peace Tshirts!
Trustee Josh Sandhu alongside friends walked 16km to take part in the challenge hiking in Wales.
Pen y Fan is a peak in the Brecon Beacons (Bannau Brycheiniog) of South Wales. At 886m, it is the highest mountain in the Brecon Beacons and indeed the whole of southern UK. There are many routes to the summit of Pen y Fan, but the most challenging is the classic Horseshoe Hike.
The Pen y Fan Horseshoe walk is a 16km route that climbs to the four peaks of Corn Du, Pen y Fan, Cribyn and Fan y Big. The walk took the group around 5 hours to complete!
Smartlearner Driving School were also heavily involved funding the Road Peace T Shirts for the BYLC Team to which we are very thankful.
Smartlearner Driving School also took part alongside BYLC Trustee Jo Smith walking considerable amounts of miles in honour of the Road Peace Challenge.
Smartlearner Driving School have been an integral part of BYLC’s inception and during Road Peace Week there were no exceptions.
Glenn takes to the roads!
BYLC Trustee Glenn had arguably the most fun championing his Road Peace T shirt on a state of the art ellipitigo!.
