MOTOFEST 2024
BYLC once again attended the Coventry MOTOFEST for the second year running. With new and improved ways to engage the public, the two day event was a great success. BYLC would like to thank everyone who came to visit us across the weekend.
Let Glenn run you through what we did:
Trustee Glenn Hartwell explains in this video BYLC’s stand and how we engaged the public across the two days we were there.
Drunk Buster Goggles
Our favourite Drunk Buster Goggles made a return at the event. With a key focus to make the public aware of the dangers of drink and drug drivers. Individuals were tasked with stacking cups to begin with using their unaffected motor-skills. Individuals were timed to see how fast they could do it. Following on from this, individuals were then tasked to stack the exact same cups but this time wearing drunk buster goggles.
We found that with the drunk buster goggles reaction time increased on average by at least 10%!
THANK YOU!
We would like to thank everyone who visited us, and donated. Across the two days the charity raised £142.18. This was done thanks to the generosity of the public. Our primary way of donation taking came through sweets! The charity held a small game, where individuals could pick a lolipop - if the sweet had a red marker on the bottom a bigger prize was won! The charity gave out prizes from rubix cubes, yo-yos and scented candles to tyre pressure checkers!
VR Goggles
We even showcased our VR Goggles. Through an interactive video created by the Fire Service, we were able to showcase to individuals of all ages the dangers of driving under the influence and the horrific aftermath of getting in the car with someone who has not valued the lives of anyone else around them.
